Robert Okaji holds a BA in history, served without distinction in the U.S. Navy, toiled as a university administrator, and no longer owns a bookstore. Sixteen months ago he was diagnosed with late stage metastatic lung cancer. He lives, for the time being, in Indianapolis with his wife—poet Stephanie L. Harper— stepson, and cat. His seventh chapbook, In the Garden of Wind’s Delight, will be published by Illuminated Press in fall 2024, followed by the publication of his first full-length collection, OurLoveliest Bruises, by 3: A Taos Press.
